Government Affairs Administrator

We are currently seeking a full time Government Affairs Administrator to support the Chamber’s government affairs efforts by coordinating the overall activities of the government affairs team.  Responsibilities include planning and executing events, maintaining contact lists, providing general administrative support, prepping for committee meetings and letter writing.

Essential Functions  

  •   Anticipate the needs of the government affairs team and understand how best to serve them.   
  •   Organize and plan annual advocacy trips in Cincinnati, Columbus and Washington, D.C.; including agenda development, managing travel and catering logistics, creating trip budgets and overseeing day of event execution.   
  •   Coordinate annual Legislative Reception including invitations, on-site management, budget oversight and catering.       
  •   Provide meeting support including setting appointments, creating agendas, handling logistics such as catering and meeting setup, sending invitations and reminders, preparing materials for meeting, taking notes, and creating minutes. 
  •   Serve as a central coordination point and provide support to Government Affairs Council and Government Affairs Executive Committee members. 
  •   Prepare and mail correspondence to governmental officials as necessary.   
  •   Create new meeting products in the Personify database and ensure that current customer data is reflected accurately. 
  •   Maintain and update contact lists for governmental officials, Government Affairs Council, Government Affairs Executive Committee and task forces.   
  •   File quarterly lobbying ethics forms. 
  •   Assist with scheduling and calendar management.  
  •   Support the development and regular updates to the legislative issue matrix, legislative tracking list, policy agenda, and policy catalogs.   
  •   Manage the Voter Voice system to communicate timely government affairs information.

The Government Affairs Administrator does not have supervisory responsibility.

Preferred Education and Experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • 1-3 years previous support experience

  •   Extremely organized, efficient, detail-oriented and successful at meeting deadlines 
  •   Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism with leaders at all levels 
  •   Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time

Research and Data Advisor

We are currently seeking a full time Research and Data Advisor to find, retain and engage Chamber members. The Customer Focus Center is committed to providing excellent service to its external customers as well as all internal departments it supports.

 Qualifications

The ideal Research and Data Advisor is service-focused and proactive by nature. He or she is a self-starter with a sense of urgency and inquisitive, curious nature. This person is confident and passionate with positive energy for work and life. He or she understands the importance of collaboration, effective listening and integrity. This person is detail oriented with strong database skills, research skills, and a passion for efficiency. He or she is creative and innovative when solving problems and is able to react quickly to customer-service related tasks and issues.

 Purpose

The Research and Data Advisor is responsible for providing service to our current and prospective members. The incumbent accepts incoming call and requests for resources thinking and reacting quickly to the callers’ needs and inquiries. The incumbent works in partnership with the sales team to research prospective members, record and track leads, and coordinate member appointments.

 Responsibilities

 Service:

  • Ensures that each customer and member receives outstanding service by providing appropriate business information and processing all transactions as quickly and accurately as possible.
  • Understands the Chamber’s products and benefits in order to up-sell and cross-sell memberships, meetings, and products.

 Data and Database Management:

  • Enters member data into the Chamber’s Personify database each day including their demographic information, key personnel, dues basis and contact tracking follow-ups.  Create and process payment of a membership orders.
  • Proactively conducts research to find new businesses for member development, develops research briefs on target companies, and keeps and maintains regional data relevant to the chamber’s mission and purpose.
  • Assists with membership retention by drafting and organizing letters for the CEO to send to local businesses that are in the news, and prepares Chamber team with engagement reports for key companies.
  • Assists with the monthly development of membership tracking reports.
  • Provide continuous analysis, incorporating local, national and global trends to guide the Chamber’s strategic growth initiatives.
  • Produce information to aid in the identification of business opportunities.

 Collaboration:

  • Provides back up support to Customer Service Advisor role.
  • Interacts with prospective members to set up appointments with the sales team.

 Specifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or relative work experience
  2. Database management experience
  3. Web-based technology management
  4. Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.) experience
  5. Customer service experience

Membership Development Representative

The Chamber is recruiting a Membership Development Representative to find, retain, and engage Chamber members. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement member development strategy
  • Penetrate customer targets to generate proposals and close sales by prospecting, qualifying, and securing meetings with decision makers of targeted companies.
  • Identify and present tailored value proposition to prospects and determine appropriate level of membership
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual quotas.
  • Identify market trends to assist in the Chamber’s overall marketing strategy and track appropriately.
  • Provide current and prospective member driven recommendations regarding the development of member services that will attract new members for ongoing continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate member information and intelligence in our database in coordination with internal team
  • Coordinate the processing of membership and communication set up with internal team
