Talent Connections Leader

The Chamber is seeking a full time Talent Connections Leader to support the Chamber’s Talent Department by working with our members to learn of their talent needs and help solve against them through the creation of new initiatives, programs and events that expose and connect our members to the talent and workforce resources in our ecosystem.

Essential Functions

  • Manage a timely, effective, multi-channel process to regularly and consistently learn of Chamber members’ talent challenges
  • Develop material assets, tools and other deliverables that all front-line staff can share with members when solving against a talent question that comes to us actively or passively
  • Develop metrics for success and methodology for tracking qualitative and quantitative impact
  • Build and maintain close relationships and partnerships with varied stakeholders in the talent ecosystem; make recommendations on opportunities to support, collaborate, advocate and engage with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and implement new initiatives, programs and events focused on systematically connecting Cincinnati Chamber members to talent-related resources
  • Work with members, talent team colleagues and higher education partners including vocational/trade/technical schools to facilitate new partnerships; develop programming to convene and connect them

Qualifications

  • The ideal Talent Connections Lead is a self-starter who is keen to make a difference in the Greater Cincinnati region. He or she will possess an intense curiosity coupled with the ability to learn and internalize new things quickly. This person brings passion to everything they focus on and has a can-do attitude.
  • The incumbent is able to develop new initiatives and build new programs and loves working with a blank canvas. This person has a high tolerance for ambiguity and knows how to cobble together available resources to achieve goals.
  • He or she likes to get stuff done and is comfortable setting metric-driven outcome goals. The ideal candidate works well independently and also in close collaboration with team members, toggling with ease between the two and as appropriate.
  • He or she is technology savvy, and understands the power of using marketing channels to raise awareness of our initiatives, programs and events.
  • He or she likes to have fun and brings enthusiasm and humor to their work. Fast-paced environments get your blood pumping. Innovation is in your DNA.
  • Knowledge of the talent space and workforce is a plus, but not required. More important is an entrepreneurial spirit and a fire in your belly to make a difference.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Talent Connections Leader may have some supervisory responsibility.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. 5-10 years previous talent/workforce experience preferred, but not required
  3. Experience convening and connecting people through planning and execution of events preferred, but not required

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Extremely organized, efficient, detail-oriented and successful at meeting deadlines
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism with leaders at all levels
  3. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time
  4. Strong customer service ethic and high expectations for quality

Work Environment

The position is located in a climate-controlled downtown office site and requires some amount of external activity. The job will require talking, listening, researching, and sitting for long periods working at a computer screen. This position does not require travel. Requirements include some evenings and weekends, flexible work week available to accommodate these instances.

Part-Time Receptionist

The Chamber is looking to hire a Part-Time Receptionist to work approximately 25 hours per week. Responsibilities include answering the main switchboard, greeting customers, preparing conference center for daily use, answering inquiries by letter and email, data entry, and administrative support. Qualified candidates will have excellent customer service and computer skills.

Essential Functions

  • Greet and direct guests and visitors of the Chamber
  • Notify and coordinate with those in the building
  • Provide administrative and calendar support for room reservations in the building
  • Prepare and mail correspondence for the Chamber
  • Enter customer data into the Personify when needed

Supervisory Responsibility

The Receptionist role does not have supervisory responsibility.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma
  2. 1-3 years previous support or customer service experience
