Holiday Homes' Story

Rolfes, DanIt took a quarter century, but Daniel Rolfes, founder and CEO of Holiday Homes, has helped the manufactured housing industry evolve from selling "trailers" to selling quality, affordable housing. Today, Holiday Homes is a proud leader in the prefabricated home industry.

Wanting to better serve a wide variety of home buyers, in 1995 Rolfes founded Freedom Homes. Freedom Homes builds conventional site built homes in subdivisions and scattered sites in the Greater Cincinnati market.

Under Rolfes, Holiday Homes has grown from three employees into the largest manufactured housing retailer and developer in the Midwest. The secret of success according to Dan is “taking care of his partners, employees and the 25,000 homeowners they have serviced in the last 40 years.”

Why the Chamber?

Holiday Homes initially made the decision to join the Chamber “to help enhance the quality of life in the business community.” He quickly realized his company stood to benefit as mush, if not more, from Chamber membership.

“New ideas and a vision,” are what keep Dan coming into work everyday. “Things are changing so fast in business. The Chamber has helped me network and communicate with other business leaders who are facing the same issues and challenges with this ever changing business environment. The Chamber helps me facilitate ideas and stay on top of my business.”

The Results

According to Dan, the most valuable thing to come out of Chamber membership has been the “coming together as a business community to create a more vibrant environment.” But the value hasn’t ended there.

“We have saved significant dollars with ChamberComp,” says Dan. “We have saved over $47,000 on premiums. We, as all businesses, manage to our bottom line and any savings we can save we like to share with our employees.”
