New YP leadership program seeks candidates
Applications for Cincy Next, one of two new leadership development programs launched by the Chamber this year, are due March 10, 2014. Driven by increased demand for leadership development from area businesses and non-profits, Cincy Next is being offered under the Chamber’s HYPE (Harnessing Young Professional Energy) suite of programs that connect and develop YPs.
Cincy Next focuses on professional development, from personal branding and effective communication to conflict management, goal-setting, generational workforce issues, personal finance, networking and an introduction to community involvement.
Specifically designed for young professionals with less than eight years of professional experience, ages 22-30, Cincy Next is an eight-month program running monthly, May-December, with an opening reception on April 30.
"Businesses know that they're only as good as their talent, offers Julia Poston, Office Managing Partner, Ernst & Young LLP. Development of their leaders for today and tomorrow is no longer optional, it's essential, and the Chamber has proven to have that formula for leadership development success, and that's why time and time again, the business community turns to them," she added.
All-inclusive tuition for the program is $2,500 and includes: overnight retreat, sessions, meals and supplies. Partial grants may be available for those with a financial need. Applications fee is $50.
"What we have noticed is that leaders are emerging earlier in their careers than ever before and Cincy Next will engage them at a time in their lives where other programs don't," said Julie Bernzott, Manager, HYPE. "Organizations are no longer waiting until later in a person's career to invest in their future, and the need for Cincy Next speaks to that," she added.
