Culture of generosity garners ProSource a Corporate Community Service Award
When you review ProSource’s history of giving back, it’s easy to understand why the company just received the Chamber’s Blue Ash Business Award for Corporate Community Service. The office technology and business services firm prides itself on an unmatched culture of giving back to the community. In 2012 alone, ProSource served more than 20 local nonprofit agencies, with a focus on those which directly help children or families in need.
"As declared in our mission statement, ProSource recognizes and accepts the responsibility of being an active corporate citizen in the community," Brad Cates, president and CEO said.
The firm encourages its 140 employees to join in the spirit of giving:
- Each Christmas season, employees collect toys, clothing and other gifts for 300 children at St. Joseph orphanage.
- ProSource's "Casual for a Cause" program allows employees to donate $5 to wear business casual attire on Fridays. Each month, that money is matched by ProSource and donated to a charity selected by employees. To date, $38,000 has been donated to 24 different local charities.
- ProSource partners with Crayons to Computers and in the summer of 2012, 44 employees volunteered 146 hours during their workday.
- ProSource is a member of many local chambers of commerce and encourages employees to be actively involved.
In addition to volunteer hours, ProSource donates printers, copiers, and printing services to numerous local organizations, including Hospice of Cincinnati, Matthew 25: Ministries, the Marvin Lewis Community Fund, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The firm frequently donates tickets to sporting events for silent auctions or raffles and supports organizations by sponsoring events and advertising in event programs.
"In 2012 alone, ProSource will have supported more than 50 organizations through sponsorships and donations exceeding $90,000," said Cates.
The 2013 Blue Ash Business Awards winners were announced at a March 21 luncheon featuring keynote speaker Dr. Yousuf Ahmad, Division Senior Vice President and Chief Network Transformation Officer at Mercy Health.
