    Meet the 2012 Innovation Awards winners

    Innovation AwardsThe Business Courier in partnership with the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and CincyTech named the five winners in its 2012 Cincinnati USA Innovation Awards.

    The Innovation Awards each year recognize organizations that fuel the region’s economic engine with new ideas and approaches. Winners and finalists were recognized at a reception last Tuesday, April 17, at the Duke Energy Convention Center. About 200 people attended.

    The night’s winners included:

    Engineering Innovation – Bioformix

    IT Innovation – Ilesfay Technology Group

    Bioscience Innovation – AssureRx Health

    Emerging Innovation – Akebia Therapeutics

    Marketing Innovation – ThinkVine

    In addition, the event recognized Dr. August Troendle with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Innovation; Hightowers Petroleum Co. with the Community Innovation of the Year Award; andSparkPeople with the Innovative Organization of the Year Award.

    The HYPE Tweet Suite also returned for its second year. HYPE, the Chamber’s young professional talent initiative, gathered a group of tweeters to post live from the event. The tweeters included Sara Blazak, CincyTech; Chris Kemper, Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber; Dan O’Keeffe, O’Keeffe PR & Marketing Solutions; Tom Demeropolis, Business Courier; Monika Royal, TiER1 Performance Solutions; and Lindsay Beish representing HYPE.
