Spotlight: Chamber member focuses on transportation advocacy
Chamber member transportation firm Burd Brothers Trucking Inc. was the site of a transportation press conference on April 14, held to keep the region focused on the importance of reauthorizing the federal six-year transportation bill that includes funding for upgrades to the Brent Spence Bridge. Four percent of the country's GDP passes through the I-75 corridor which includes the bridge. That's over $400 billion in goods annually.
The event highlighted a new study by The Road Information Program (TRIP) outlining the cost of congestion and aging roads in Ohio and a call on Congress to advance a long-term, robust highway and public transportation bill.
Founded in 1993 and a Chamber member since 2004, Burd Brothers is a family-owned and operated regional trucking company, offering local expedited service, warehousing and distribution from LTL to full truckload service throughout the United States, Canada and small packages worldwide.
The company experienced over 200% growth since 2009. They successfully opened a new location in the Dayton, Ohio area and are planning to establish another site in Louisville, Kentucky.
