Record-breaking attendance at Bold Fusion YP summit
The Chamber hosted its annual Bold Fusion event at Cincinnati's Horseshoe Casino last Thursday. The event, presented by P&G, is the region's largest yearly gathering of young professionals. And bold it was, with nearly 700 in attendance. Watch the video.
Bold Fusion is a component of HYPE, or Harnessing Young Professional Energy, the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber's effort to grow Cincinnati USA as a top destination for young talent.
Now in its ninth year, Bold Fusion encourages young professionals to come together for provocative discussion, learning and a common purpose -- to connect with one another and learn how to advance their career, their company and our community.
The theme of this year's Bold Fusion was Playing Your Cards Right: How to Win with Give and Take, and featured keynote speaker Adam Grant.
Grant is the youngest tenured professor at the prestigious Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has been recognized as Wharton's single highest-rated teacher, one of BusinessWeek's favorite professors, and one of the world's 40 best business professors under 40. Grant is the author of The New York Times bestseller Give and Take: A Revolutionary Approach to Success, and has evaluated the culture at organizations such as Google, the NFL, Pixar, Goldman Sachs, Facebook, Microsoft and Apple, to name a few.
"Bold Fusion is designed to connect and engage our young talent, and Adam Grant's message, at its core, encourages connecting and collaborating with others as a way to give back. He advocates that nice guys actually finish first, which is something that resonates with this audience," said Julie Bernzott, Manager of HYPE Young Professional Programming for the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. "His message of creating success for others is key to sustaining professional and personal success," Bernzott added.
Other speakers included Dave Palm, Senior Vice President of Operations at dunnhumby USA, Roanne Lee, Founder of The Awesome Foundation, and Tarek Kamil, Founder of Cerkl. Bob Herzog, reporter for Local 12 WKRC emceed the event.
All attendees were encouraged to live tweet before and during the event using the #boldfusion hashtag, which trended that day.
A networking reception and book signing with Adam Grant followed the event on the casino's 2nd Floor terrace. Blues band, Trinity, played live.
