Help the American Red Cross respond to the Syrian crisis
In October of 2015, the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the American Red Cross launched its first “Listening Forum” as a way to hear and share information about refugee and migrant communities. This first “Syrian Listening Forum”, focused on the Health Crisis of Syrian refugees, and included panelist from the Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations (UOSSM) currently serving and responding to the crisis. Attendees included Agencies and Organizations currently serving refugee populations.
During the forum, many people asked how they could help, and panelists talked about the need for medical supplies such as: latex gloves, cotton rolls, and sterile gauze pads. As an outgrowth of this response, the Red Cross is holding a drive to collect medical supplies; all items collected will go to support the victims and refugees in Syria.
In order to do so, they will be having an event that announces our strategy to aid with the current medical crisis on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 in the auditorium.
Should you have any questions about the drive or would like a fully copy of the medical supply list, please contact Kayla Iheukwu, International Services Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org or 513-579-3023.
