Two opportunities from the Advocacy Team to help your business
On March 13, the Chamber will lead a delegation of members to Columbus for the day to meet with the Governor, members of his Administration and other elected officials. Join this group to learn about pro-business policy in Ohio and observe and experience lobbying for your business’s needs – no previous knowledge necessary! Over the course of the day, the delegation, including Chamber Government Affairs staff, members from corporate partner companies, members from not-for-profits, and members from small businesses, will meet with Governor Kasich and other Ohio elected officials to discuss Ohio's proposed budget, the Brent Spence Bridge project, modernization of Ohio's severance tax and decrease of Ohio's income tax, and many other topics relevant to your business and our economic climate here in Cincinnati. Denise deSilva Litter, MBE Portfolio Manager of the Minority Business Accelerator and first-time attendee on 2012's trip, said of the day-long program, "Having little previous experience lobbying or meeting with elected officials, the Columbus Drive-In was a unique chance to learn how advocacy teams work with our government to ensure the best outcomes for all sides."
We encourage you and your employees to attend the 2013 Columbus Drive-In to not only communicate the issues that are important to your business, but also to see firsthand what the advocacy team can learn and accomplish in one day's visit. No need to be a policy expert or government relations officer; all are welcome on this fun trip to help share Cincinnati's most important business issues with Ohio's leadership.

Plus, join us on March 18 for a short seminar to learn from industry experts how your business can tap into the lucrative shale supply chain. In eastern Ohio, the shale industry is rapidly growing - and there is significant opportunity for businesses in the Cincinnati region to tap into the success that our eastern neighbors are seeing. Join this panel of experts for an education luncheon and lecture to learn everything you need to know about how your business can become part of the shale industry supply chain.
Featuring speakers Rhonda Reda, Executive Director of the Ohio Oil & Gas Energy Education Program, Linda Woggon, Executive Director of the Ohio Shale Coalition, and David Mustine, Managing Director of Energy, Chemicals & Polymers at JobsOhio, along with three expert panelists discussing business benefits, this event is one you can't miss.
