Blue Ash Business Awards keynote brings innovation, advancement – and cricket skills – to region

Ahmad, YousufDr. Yousuf J. Ahmad, Divisional SVP & Chief Network Transformation Officer at Mercy Health, and the keynote speaker at the upcoming Blue Ash Business Awards, is making strides in Cincinnati USA for his passion for technology and innovation in the healthcare field. In addition to being a participant in the current Leadership Cincinnati class, Ahmad was recently named a finalist for the Business Courier's 2013 Health Care Heroes in the category of 'Innovator'. Health Care Heroes honors those who have made an impact on healthcare in our community, and Ahmad has done just that.

In March 2010, Ahmad published an article in the International Journal of Healthcare Delivery Reform Initiatives titled "Adoption of Electronic Health Records: A Study of CIO Perceptions". He carefully studied the acceptance and adoption of electronic health records by Chief Information Officers and was able to extrapolate from that an idea of the overall implementation of IT in healthcare organizations.

In his work at Mercy Health, Ahmad transforms the delivery and implementation of primary and specialty care. He also leads the Mercy Health region in preparation for healthcare reform initiatives, and provides executive oversight for the Mercy Health Physicians Advisory Board.

Beyond his work in the healthcare field, Ahmad brings to Cincinnati USA a unique set of skills: expertise in table tennis and cricket. "In selecting participants for Leadership Cincinnati, we always look for people who can bring a fresh perspective to the program," says Dan Hurley, the Director of Leadership Cincinnati. "Yousuf was a youth Table Tennis Champion in the United Arab Emirates.  He attended the University of London on a cricket scholarship and is now ranked in the top 400 Scrabble Players in the world (despite English being his fifth language). That is a fresh set of experiences that has made Yousuf a valuable and respected member of Class 36."

Mark your calendar now for the 2013 Blue Ash Business Awards, where Ahmad will deliver the keynote address. The event will also honor companies within the City of Blue Ash for their significant accomplishments and contributions to our region.
