The 2016 half-day event will feature keynote and trenspotter Chitra Anand, former Microsoft exec and Intrapreneurship expert. Chitra is leading the forefront on this new concept. ‘Intrapreneurs’ are the people within an organization who possess an entrepreneurial spirit, driving innovation, creative thinking, and new ideas.
Chitra spoke with the Cincinnati Enquirer last week about this topic.
"Question: Explain what Intrapreneurship is, and how is it different from entrepreneurship?
Answer: The notion around intrapreneurship is taking an entrepreneurial approach from within an organization to drive creation. It's difficult for large organizations because they're large, lethargic and very political. Startups are quick, agile and risk-taking. So how do you bridge that gap? My hypothesis is that, I don’t believe it should be standalone incubators within companies. If you want true entreprenuership, it needs to be embedded in how people think and work day-to-day. I developed a model on how to problem solve, whatever your discipline, which encourages experimentation, from a research perspective, so you take those learnings and key ideas into something you can mobilize quickly."
