    REDI Cincinnati visits SXSW; customer engagement is key

    Ball, NicoleRiddle, TammyREDI Cincinnati's Nicole Ball, cluster director for consumer products and BrandHUB, and Tammy Riddle, cluster director for the IT, finance and insurance sectors, traveled to Austin, Texas last week for the annual mega-conference called South By Southwest (SXSW).

    Beyond just an IT or branding conference, SXSW is becoming its own two-week experience of digital immersion.  Start-ups to established companies make the trip to showcase their latest products, learn about the latest trends in the marketplace and make connections from around the world.  SXSW provides a perfect opportunity for the cluster directors to go right to the heart of two industries that Cincinnati USA is becoming increasingly known for - world-class branding expertise and a thriving ecosystem for IT on the brink of the next Silicon Valley.

    When asked how IT and branding work together, the answer is that they are both heavily intertwined. Data and customer analytics drives marketing campaigns and campaigns create big data.  It has also morphed the idea of the what creativity means.  "Creative" today means using outside-the-box, innovative thinking to solve a need, whether its developing an app, launching a creative campaign or finding new ways to interpret and anticipate consumer behaviors, all heavily involved and reliant on the new relationship that exists between IT and branding.
