2012 Small Business Award finalist celebrates Canon Club induction, 20th anniversary
The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will be celebrating their twentieth anniversary season next year, and another milestone: CSC will become one of only five theaters in the United States to "Complete the Canon" by producing all 38 plays by William Shakespeare!
The resident ensemble theatre company brings Shakespeare and the classics to life for audiences of all ages. Over the past 20 years, CSC has had many proud accomplishments in addition to "Completing the Canon." Accomplishments include:
- Being honored as a Small Business of the Year nominee at the 2012 Small Business Excellence Awards by the Cincinnati Regional Chamber
- Establishing an endowment fund through the Greater Cincinnati Foundation
- Awarded an increase in operating funding from ArtsWave for continued impact in the community
- Selection to participate in a valuable innovation workshop with Wolfe Brown at ArtsWave.
Next season includes classic titles like a stage adaption of Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps followed by an adaptation of Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist. Other classic titles in the season include John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men and Noel Coward's Private Lives. In 2014, CSC will present Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and Hamlet and then Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Henry IV: Part 1 & 2 and The Two Noble Kinsmen will be in the spring of 2014 and are the final plays in CSC's quest to "Complete the Canon"!
