Spotlight: Integrity Express Logistics aims to outshine competitors with consistency, reliability
Blue-Ash based Integrity Express Logistics LLC (IEL), an asset-based third party logistics firm, is reaping the rewards of its hard work and commitment to service and professionalism. The firm, founded in 2007, has doubled its number of employees each year since inception, and was recently honored as runner-up for a Chamber Blue Ash Business Award (Business of the Year, 51-250 employees).
Principle owners James Steger, Matt Ventura and Pete Ventura have a combined 30 years of shipping/logistics experience, and pride themselves on creating personalized relationships with customers.
“We care more about the relationship than just the bottom-line and margins,” said Steger. “IEL has found it profitable to be willing to take tighter margins when first getting set-up with customers, in order to get in the door, and then grow the relationship from there and increase margins.”
IEL has faced its share of adversity. According to Steger, sales have increased so fast that the firm was occasionally extending more credit than it was collecting.
“We have now partnered with a larger bank and have a larger line of credit in place to help us operate more freely,” said Steger.
The firm also faced a common start-up hurdle: name recognition.
“We proactively joined trade associations and attended conferences to get our name out there and build our brand,” says Steger. “Plus, we’ve always paid our carriers and vendors in a timely manner, which has helped our reputation.”
The blood, sweat and tears are paying off. Not only are sales steadily growing, but the firm is enjoying several regional accolades:
- Named one of Cincinnati’s 55 Fastest Growing Companies by the Business Courier
- Named one of America’s 500 Fastest Growing Companies by INC Magazine
- Named Small Business of the Year (2012) by the Cincinnati Chamber
- Winner of Best Places to Work in Greater Cincinnati by the Cincinnati Enquirer
In February, IEL was named a finalist in the 2013 Blue Ash Business Awards. Winners were announced at a March 21 luncheon featuring keynote speaker Dr. Yousuf Ahmad, Division Senior Vice President and Chief Network Transformation Officer at Mercy Health.
