Securing the Future to explore sports partnerships

Every person who gives time, talent and treasure has a unique motivation. Join the Chamber for the 2011 Securing the Future conference, Star Power for Nonprofits: A Backstage Pass to Success on April 6 and learn what motivates celebrities to partner with local nonprofits.

The 10th annual nonprofit conference will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2011, 8 a.m.–1 p.m., at Xavier University’s Schiff Conference and Banquet Center at the Cintas Center.

STF Experts PanelThe 2011 Securing the Future panel discussion will explore the topic of how to engage celebrities. Attendees will learn how nonprofits can connect with sports stars, what types of partnerships work best and the key elements in maximizing the partnerships for both the nonprofit and the celebrity. This will certainly be a backstage pass to our local stars. Expert panelists include Chad Williamson, director of philanthropy for Dhani Jones and chief executive officer of Bow Ties for a Cause, Charley Frank, executive director of the Cincinnati Reds Foundation and Liz Carter, executive director of St. Vincent De Paul. Betsy Ross, president and founder of Game Day Communications will moderate.

STF Featured SpeakersThe event’s featured speakers include national experts Rosetta Thurman, author and nonprofit expert, with keynote topic, “Cultivating the Rockstars in our Midst: How to Get the Best Out of All Four Generations in the Nonprofit Workspace,” and Paul Carttar, director of the Social Innovation Fund, with keynote topic, “The Role of Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the New Economy.”

A bonus session will immediately follow this year's conference, where the Leadership Council of Human Service Executives will be premiering Flywheel, a new social enterprise hub for Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati.
