Ohio, Cincinnati rank high in coveted Governor's Cup
In a March 3rd announcement, Ohio and the Cincinnati region ranked high in the coveted Governor's Cup rankings. The rankings, released by the premier economic development publication Site Selection Magazine, rank states by overall economic development projects and new this year, projects per capita.
Ohio was ranked #2 overall, which was a repeat from 2012, behind Texas. However, this year they implemented another category which ranks states on a per capita basis to give smaller states a shot at winning the big prize. Ohio remained ranked #2, which is a testament to the economic development activity happening around the region, and not just because of the sheer size of the state itself. The Cincinnati region ranked #6, up two spaces from last year's #8.
“It’s no surprise that Cincinnati and Ohio are once again at the top of the list when it comes to attracting and expanding facilities,” said JobsOhio Senior Managing Director Mark Patton. “With Cincinnati USA and JobsOhio’s other regional Network partners, we’re aggressively pursuing jobs creators here at home and across the country, selling the advantages of doing business in Ohio. These rankings show our work is paying off.”
