Region celebrates James Wuenker and record 2015 growth
Each year, REDI Cincinnati and its partners have the chance
to celebrate growth happening throughout the region. The James A. Wuenker Growth
Awards, hosted in conjunction with the Cincinnati Business Courier’s Commercial
Real Estate Developers Power Breakfast, recognize companies that chose to
locate to or grow in Greater Cincinnati during the previous calendar year. It
is a chance to celebrate each company, while sharing the story behind why they
This year’s winners, chosen by a selection committee of
economic development professionals across the region, include:
ADVICS Manufacturing Ohio,
Inc.: A braking system manufacturer that grew from making one product
for one customer in the 1980s to supporting more than 20 different vehicles.
Grounded in a mission to manufacture the highest-quality, most-competitive
brake system components in the company makes more than four million disc brake
calipers and about half a million electronic stability control units annually.
In 2015, ADVICS announced a commitment to 970 new and retained jobs as well as
$150 million in capital investments.
An emerging pharmaceuticals company that uses proprietary ZipDose® Technology
to transform the way people take medicine. The company’s first product
SPIRITAM® (levetiracetam), is the first prescription drug product approved by
the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that is manufactured using 3D printing
technology. In 2015, Aprecia announced a commitment to 150 new jobs and more
than $25 million in capital investment.
Barclaycard US: This
leading credit card issuer is one of the world’s largest and most solid
financial service companies. Barclaycard partners with 25 top companies to
empower its car members with innovative products and a personal level of
service. In 2015, Barclaycard US committed to 1,500 new jobs and $9.3 million
in capital investment.
Robert Bosch Automotive
Steering: A leader in electronic steering systems, Bosch assembles
electric power steering systems, steering columns and hydraulic steering
systems for the North American market. The recent expansion is the company’s
sixth in Florence, Ky. since the company consolidated in 2006. In 2015, Bosch
committed to 1,500 new and retained jobs as well as $84.5 million in capital
