Women leading healthcare
Healthcare was one of the earliest sectors to promote women to leadership roles. Hear from two of Cincinnati USA's own women leading the way in healthcare at WE Speak on June 26.
Attendees will hear from Lee Ann Liska, President and CEO of UC Medical Center and Gina Drosos, President of Assurex Health as they share personal experiences, career pathways and lessons learned.
Lee Ann Liska, MBA, FACHE, serves as President & Chief Executive Officer of University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She has over 28 years of health systems management experience with a background in hospital operations, physician practice management and ambulatory services. Prior to joining UCMC, Liska served as Chief Operating Officer for Mercy Health in Cincinnati, Ohio; Executive Director & Senior Vice President of University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio; Chief Operating Officer of The Cleveland Clinic Florida Hospitals & Clinics; Vice President of Operations for The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, Ohio; and Administrator for various clinical departments at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Liska has a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and an Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University. She is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Liska is involved in community and civic activities, such as American Heart Association, YWCA, Hoxworth Blood Center, LifeCenter Organ Donor Network, Xavier University and the United Way of Greater Cincinnati Tocqueville Society. Liska was named a YWCA Career Woman of Achievement in 2011, Lead Magazine Women of Influence in 2013, and the 2014 Neil H. McElroy Award for United Way Resource Development Leadership.
Virginia “Gina” C. Drosos has over 25 years executive leadership experience in the consumer goods and personal care industries. As President of Assurex Health, she brings expertise in growing and scaling businesses, developing winning strategies, operations, marketing, sales and innovation for global businesses and broad brand portfolios. During her 25 year career at The Procter & Gamble Company, Gina held positions of increasing responsibility with strong proven results. Before joining the Assurex Health team, Gina most recently served P&G as Group President for Global Beauty Care, a $6+ billion global business unit with over 6,000 employees in 120 countries. Gina’s experience in the consumer space is helping Assurex Health lead the movement to patient-empowered personalized medicine and cultivate a neuropsychiatric market of over 50 million patients in the U.S. alone, with women representing a large percentage of them as the primary medical decision maker. Gina holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from The Terry School, University of Georgia, and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
A program of Women Excel (WE), the WE Speak luncheon series provides an interactive forum for distinguished women leaders to share their personal and professional stories with other business women in an intimate setting.
