Exploring program connects young talent with the region

Exploring ProgramOn May 25th, the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and Mercy Health are hosting a preview session for the Dan Beard Council's workforce development program: Exploring, Experience for Tomorrow. With more than 1,500 students participating annually, the Exploring program prepares tomorrow's workforce through an in-depth exploration of an industry and/or career. From health care, to aviation, to construction, Exploring is designed to provide hands-on experience for students ages 14-21.

May, JamesExploring, Experience for Tomorrow is the Dan Beard Council's workforce development program, under the umbrella of the Council's Learning for Life organization. Exploring's purpose is to provide experiences that help young people mature and prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

Jim May, President and CEO of Mercy Health, serves as the Vice President of the Exploring Program for the Dan Beard Council and is committed to ensuring the connectivity of our youth with career opportunities: "Mercy Health understands the correlation between strong businesses and strong communities. We see the significance in retaining the young talent of Cincinnati and its impact on the sustainability of our organizations’ futures. Exploring is uniquely positioned as a mediator between today’s employees and tomorrow’s workforce. It is here that youth are able to receive hands-on experiences that prepare them for the future and companies are able to begin training and recruiting future employees from a young age. These goals are in direct alignment with the stated goals of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and the Partnership."

Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth and organizations in Southwest Ohio. We are hoping to expand the number and types of sites available for youth to grow, learn and stay in the greater Cincinnati area. Please join Jim May, President and CEO of Mercy Health, from 9-10 a.m. at the Chamber offices to learn more about partnering with Exploring, Experience for Tomorrow
