goVibrant! Veggie Races return May 27
Local media celebrities representing TV, radio, print and blogs will again compete in the third-annual goVibrant! Veggie Races on Friday, May 27, noon to 1 p.m. on Fountain Square. Similar to the Cub Scouts’ Pinewood Derby races, contestants will be provided vegetables to build and race a veggie-fueled vehicle in a round-robin style tournament. Beer will be sold on the square during the event.
goVibrant! is also launching its five-month Million Step Challenge at Taste of Cincinnati with a “Veggie Walk” scheduled for Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m. The walk starts at the go Vibrant booth on Fountain Square and heads south on Vine to Smale Park along the riverfront before heading north on Main and returning to Fountain Square. The “Veggie Walk” is free and open to the public and all participants will receive a free t-shirt.
The “Veggie Walk” is the first event for the go Vibrant Million Step Challenge, a walking challenge among five Cincinnati neighborhoods (Walnut Hills/East Walnut Hills, Madisonville, Avondale, Delhi and Evanston). The challenge’s goal from May 28 through October 29 is to start healthy exercise habits and encourage neighborhood camaraderie as well as take advantage of the go Vibrant neighborhood walking routes.
