Taste Veggie Races 2014In its 36th year, The Taste of Cincinnati was bigger and better than ever this Memorial Day weekend. The fun kicked off on Friday with the goVibrantVeggie Races on Fountain Square. The event saw 8 teams of local print, radio, and TV personalities face-off in a competition to build soap-box-derby cars out of vegetables. 96Rock's morning show team, Bridget and Fin, took to the track and stole the Veggie Races crown from the reigning champs, the Cincinnati Business Courier.
2014 Taste CrowdThe Taste opened at 11am on Saturday, earlier than it ever has in the history of the event and featured over 60 restaurants, including 9 Food Trucks in the West Sixth Food Truck Alley.  The Taste Experience area was back for its second year and featured more restaurants than in 2013. Christian Moerlein, official sponsor of the Taste of Cincinnati, offered a tapping on Saturday and Sunday of two specialty beers, Scottish Ale with Spruce Tips Double Dry Hopped Northern Liberties. Over 70 entertainment acts rocked 5 stages between Vine and Sentinel streets.

2014 Taste Memorial DayThe final day of Taste started with a Memorial Day procession to honor our service men and women. Free Cokes were offered to all veterans and active members of the military. On Monday, the Taste of Cincinnati was also able to give back to the region by donating $16,000 to the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State. The donation surpassed the 2013 amount of $13,500 and was made possible thanks to the passion in the Taste Experience area and by our friends at Sysco.
