    Are we an inclusive community?

Fifth Third BankAttend the Diverse by Design: 2013 Leadership Symposium, presented by Fifth Third Bank on November 13 at Duke Energy Center to find out.  Among the many highlights of the event will be a keynote address by ABC News correspondent and host of the popular show "What Would You Do?" John Quinones.

Quinones, John"A journalist's primary responsibility is asking the right questions until the truth is revealed. That is what Cincinnati has been doing with their diversity and inclusion initiatives, and I look forward to continuing that crucial dialogue next month at the symposium," said Quinones. "The Cincinnati region should be commended for addressing such an important topic, and not shying away," he added.

The symposium will feature progress reports from the Diverse by Design Action Teams that were formed following last year's release of a groundbreaking report on our region's overall diversity. The report compared our region to 11 peer regions around the country and made the business case for increasing diversity and growing inclusion in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

The symposium will also include dialogue with intercultural competence expert Mary-Frances Winters and remarks by Fifth Third Bancorp Vice Chairman and CEO, Kevin Kabat.

"In the last year, more than 150 volunteers from 80 organizations have been inspired by 15 executive leaders from around the region in Action Teams that have tackled tough questions for our community," said Mary Stagaman, executive director of Agenda 360. "They are developing key strategies for attracting and keeping diverse talent in our region; growing opportunities for minority businesses; and making our community more welcoming to newcomers from near and far."

"I look forward to being able to challenge those at the symposium with a simple question-"what will we do"-when it comes to issues surrounding diversity. Significant progress has been made with inclusion throughout our country, and in particular in Cincinnati. But the work can't end there. I hope the answer to the question of "what will we do"-is "more"," Quinones added.
