Government shutdown: time for compromise
It's been 8 days since the federal government shutdown and the time for compromise is long overdue. The Chamber encourages the President, the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House to work together to immediately reopen the government and continue normal operations.
Quickly send a prewritten letter to the Administration and your representatives in Congress to support ending the shutdown.
The Chamber understands the critical need to rein in federal spending and reduce budget deficits. However, partisan hard-lining is not progressive and the government shutdown slows economic recovery efforts while leaving businesses open to uncertainties, making it difficult for them to invest and grow. Congress should act now to reopen the government and follow through with thoughtful and meaningful discussions on long-term spending policies.
