MBA hires Rodney Swope as director
The Chamber’s Minority Business Accelerator recently hired Rodney D. Swope as its Director. Rodney will focus on Innovation, MBA Pipeline of the Future, and enhanced portfolio metrics. This includes close collaboration with Greater Cincinnati's Entrepreneurial Ecosystem initiatives such as Cintrifuse, Cincytech, and the Brandery.
Rodney is from Gary, Indiana, where he started his career in the steel industry. He forward integrated his career in Michigan’s automotive industry at General Motors and Ford before moving to Cincinnati to build successful career in supply chain and capital management at P&G.
His passion for collaboration and community service led to launch Rod & Staff Enterprises, a business and economic development consultancy. There he served in Marketplace ministry where he supported the start-up and strategic plans for churches and other faith based enterprises. He became a trusted adviser and consultant integral to strategic initiatives such as City Link, City Gospel Mission and the Christian Community Development Association.
Rodney is an Adjunct Professor of Economics and Management, at Indiana Wesleyan University and a Research Fellow at the Institute for Entrepreneurial Thinking. He currently serves as Board Chair for City Gospel Mission.
Rodney is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics and Biblical Studies at the Union Institute in Cincinnati. He holds an MBA from The University of Michigan Graduate School of Business with emphasis in Finance and Strategy and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Math from Western Michigan University.
In addition to his educational and workforce background, Rodney is married to Monica B. Swope, D.D.S, and father of three children- Kristin, Taylor and Caleb Swope.
