Nielsen CEO to share insights on media at annual lunch
David Calhoun, chairman and CEO of The Nielsen Company, will be the featured guest speaker at the Chamber's Annual Luncheon, presented by Tata Consultancy Services and sponsored by Fifth Third Bancorp and MVD Communications. The event is on October 28.
The Nielsen Company is a global information and measurement company with leading market positions in marketing and consumer information, television and other media measurement. The privately held company has a presence in approximately 100 countries, and its second-largest location is in Covington.
Cincinnati is the birthplace of two backbones of modern business, consumer research and brand management, and is increasingly recognized as the “Silicon Valley of Consumer Marketing.” As a global leader in understanding what consumers watch and what consumers buy, The Nielsen Company’s unique insights are highly relevant to Cincinnati’s business leaders.
Calhoun will discuss Nielsen’s passion for measuring and analyzing how people interact with digital platforms, traditional media and in-store environments as well as growth opportunities in emerging global markets. Nielsen is on the cutting edge of the rapid changes in the media landscape, and has established ventures with Facebook and McKinsey & Company to help CMOs and CEOs leverage the power of consumers’ online behavior.
“Digitization has changed everything. What used to be a very simple, television-centric way of reaching audiences has now become very complex, because those audiences have fragmented so much,” said Calhoun.
In addition to Calhoun’s keynote, the Chamber will honor several enterprises for completing 100 years of business in our community.
The Chamber Annual Lunch will be held Thursday, Oct. 28, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Music Hall. Members pay $55 a person or $440 for a table of eight; non-members are $70 each or $560 for a table of eight.
