    Did you make it to Oktoberfest but forget to check out the schedule or strategize your plan of attack? Fear not! This year, an all-new app for your iPhone or Android smartphone will turn an Oktoberfest rookie into a 37-year veteran - scan the QR code with your phone. If you prefer, the Oktoberfest mobile site can be utilized with any mobile phone that has web access.

    Oktoberfest Sneak Peak Friday
    Friday, Sept. 21 from Noon-Midnight, Fountain Square
    German food, music and ice cold beer will be available on Fountain Square from Noon to until midnight for the Oktoberfest "Sneak Peak" celebration!

    6th Annual John Morrell Running of the Wieners

    Gemuetlichkeit Games
    Friday, Sept. 21 at 1:00 p.m., Fountain Square
    Following the Running of the Wieners race, watch the Gemuetlichkeit (goodwill) Games-including the Beer Stein Race and Beer Barrel Roll.

    Fifth and Broadway at the Hudepohl Bar & Bier Garten
    New in 2012 will be the larger-than-life-sized Enquirer Media Glockenspiel-an actual working clock with a bar on the ground level and a stage above the bar.  Every hour on the hour when the clock strikes, the music will kick in and entertainers will emerge on the stage to ring in the hour with dances, toasts and souvenirs for the crowd. Expect celebrity guest entertainers during certain hours too!

    Kraut vs. Pretzel 2012: The Controversy Continues
    As you may have heard, there is some animosity between Sen. Kraut and Rep. Pretzel leading up to Oktoberfest. We always knew there was a shred of friction between the two but never thought it would become so fully baked. View the campaign videos and vote now!

    Opening Ceremonies
    Saturday, Sept. 22 at 11:30 a.m., Fountain Square
    Join Oktoberfest goers on for the official 2012 opening ceremonies and keg tapping. The ceremonies begin with a colorful parade of German-American representatives wearing traditional vestments, walking down 5th Street to each fest tent. Keg tapping at each fest tent will mark the opening of that tent. A flag and seal will be hung at each tent. This ceremony has its roots in the original authentic Oktoberfest in Munich.

    World's Largest Chicken Dance
    Saturday, September 22 at 1:30 p.m. on Fountain Square
    One of the favorite events of Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati is the World's Largest Chicken Dance, which will be led by a celebrity Grand Marshall. One of the ways this celebration distinguishes itself from the others is the chicken dance - thousands of dancers have congregated every year since 1994 when Zinzinnatians set the record for the largest Chicken Dance in the world. Will you join them this year?

     3rd Annual World Brat Eating Championship
    Saturday, Sept. 22 at 4:00 p.m., Fifth and Broadway
    Joey "Jaws" Chestnut, the top ranked competitive eater in the world, will return in 2012 to participate in this third annual World Bratwurst Eating Contest. These weapons of mass digestion will show Zinzinnati USA the true meaning of intestinal fortitude! 

    Samuel AdamsSamuel Adams Stein Hoisting Championship
    Saturday, Sept. 22 at 5:00 p.m., Fountain Square
    Raise your Beer! How long can you raise your beer stein? The Samuel Adams Stein Hoisting Championship is a contest of grit, determination, strength and the desire to drink the contents of the stein, after a series of preliminary events hosted at local bars and pubs. The winner will be crowned the Samuel Adams Stein Hoisting Champion.

    NEW! Samuel Adams "Stein Hoist Heard Round the World"
    Saturday, Sept. 22 at 8:00 p.m., Fountain Square
    And new this year, Sam Adams will be hosting quite possibly the world's largest stein hoist. In conjunction with the Oktoberfest celebrations in Boston and Denver, Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati toasters will join Jim Koch, founder of Sam Adams, for the "Stein Hoist Heard Round the World."

     EACCEACC/Hofbrauhaus Corporate Stammtisch Tent
    Companies and individuals can now celebrate the world's second largest Oktoberfest in true German style. Hofbrauhaus Newport, in partnership with the European-American Chamber of Commerce (EACC), will offer an experience modeled after Munich's Oktoberfest at this year's Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati. This exclusive event provides Stammtisch experience for executives, business professionals and individual under one roof and will feature signature Hofbrauhaus menu items and its reowned Oktoberfest beer straight from Munich, as well as German bands and friendly servers in Hofbrauhaus attire.

    Wahl Home Products NEW! The Wahl Face the Day Tour - Facial Hair Face Off

    The Wahl styling team will be on the lookout for the "Man of Cincinnati" Oktoberfest weekend. The 30-foot mobile barbershop will be accessible to all Oktoberfest- goers with master barbers giving free trims, tips and grooming advice to facial hair-clad gentlemen. Men are also encouraged to stop over and enter themselves in the ultimate facial hair face-off. The guy with the best facial hair will not only bring pride to their city and receive the "Man of Cincinnati" title, they will also win $500 and Wahl product. Good grooming pays off too, because the "Man of Cincinnati" will then be put into the running for the "Wahl Man of the Year" Contest, and will compete with 14 other style defining competitors from across the country for the title of 'Wahl Man of the Year' and winner of an additional $1,000.

    Fritz Look for Oktoberfest's Top Dog - Fritz
    No event is perfect without a mascot, and this year Fritz, an authentically German Dachshund that just can't get enough of these fun German festivities, will return. Fritz will be making appearances at the Running of the Wieners race, chicken dance and many other Oktoberfest locations.
