C-Change class 6 helping World Choir Games
C-Change, the Chamber’s year-long professional development program, is in full swing, with the class of 54 participants being charged with creating projects for the World Choir Games (WCG). This unique opportunity to be a part of a huge community-wide event has been embraced. Take a look at the work that is being done to help showcase our region and these international games.
This project is designed to connect the world’s choirs with the people of Cincinnati USA to form friendships and foster cultural awareness. Similar to a pen pal program, ChoirConnect will unite visiting choirs with Cincinnati USA civic, school and other musical groups (host groups). The program will match visiting choirs with host groups based on background, interests and desired participation level.
This is a great opportunity for visiting choirs, as well as host groups to interact, learn and build friendships with each other prior to, during and after the 2012 WCG. ChoirConnect participants will have opportunities to take part in a welcome event and connect face-to-face during the WCG.

World Choir Games Speakers’ Bureau
The Speakers’ Bureau seeks to increase awareness of, provide information about and engage targeted organizations in the 2012 WCG. This project will develop a series of outreach programs to professional organizations on behalf of the WCG about how involvement with the WCG positively impacts our region and, as a result, their respective organizations.
This project will also assist with volunteer recruitment efforts, particularly with foreign language volunteers.
World Choir Games Community Engagement:
There are various facets of community engagement that this team is working on, all designed to create excitement for and awareness of the 2012 World Choir Games in fun and interactive ways that will increase Cincinnati USA community participation.
Team 1: Musical Interactive
This project is designed to create and place public art that reflects the WCG throughout various parts of the region. This series of public art will engage and educate the community about the upcoming WCG.
The team will work with Artworks, and local artists (teen apprentices to professionals) to create and display iconic art pieces throughout the various neighborhoods of Cincinnati to inform Choir Games participants, visitors and current residents.
Team 2: Find Your Voice
The Find Your Voice project is designed to create community buzz and engagement by attempting to break a record in the Guinness Book of World Records with a singing marathon. The record this attempts to break is "the most people in a singing relay participating in a song." The record to beat: More than 202 people. This project is designed to be executed at a large-scale community event.
Team 3: Choir Flash Mobs
The Flash Mob project is designed to spark interest, excitement and engagement in the upcoming WCG through the use of choirs in “singing flash mobs” at various locations around the Cincinnati USA region leading up to the Choir Games.
