U.S. Chamber / RecruitMilitary veteran job fair set for Paul Brown Stadium
U.S. Chamber of Commerce joins forces with local company, RecruitMilitary in Loveland, OH, for 13 nationwide veteran hiring events. The kickoff event, Hiring Our Heroes/RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expo, will take place at Paul Brown Stadium on Thursday, September 22.
The United States Chamber of Commerce, the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, and RecruitMilitary, a Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber member based in Loveland, will collaborate on a job fair for veterans, the Hiring Our Heroes/RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expo, on September 22 in the East Club Lounge at Paul Brown Stadium. This will be the first of 13 such events scheduled for 2011 in cities from coast to coast. RecruitMilitary will produce the event in cooperation with The American Legion, and the Xavier University Veterans Affairs Office will be the sponsor.
RecruitMilitary is offering employers that are members of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber a 10% discount on the cost of their exhibition booths at the Cincinnati event. The company will offer further price reductions for small businesses (fewer than 50 employees), and even lower rates for veteran-owned small businesses.
“We are pleased to partner with the U.S. Chamber in this initiative,” said Drew Myers, President and Founder of RecruitMilitary and a former Captain in the United States Marine Corps, “and we are especially glad that we will be able to make these events a great bargain for small businesses. The success of those enterprises is vital to our economic recovery. Small businesses employ more than 50% of all private-sector employees, and they pay 44% of the total U.S. private payroll.”
The RecruitMilitary-U.S. Chamber initiative will help Corporate America respond to a challenge issued on August 5 by President Barack Obama. Speaking at the Washington Navy Yard, the President challenged businesses to hire or train 100,000 unemployed veterans or their spouses by the end of 2013.
RecruitMilitary has been connecting employers, franchisors, and educational institutions with job seekers who have military backgrounds since Myers founded the company in 1998. All of the company’s owners, officers, and senior account executives have served in the armed forces.
RecruitMilitary has conducted Veteran Opportunity Expos since 2006, with 15 events scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2011 and more than 60 for 2012. The company also offers subscriptions to its database of more than 425,000 registered candidates who have military backgrounds, recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) services, and advertising space in online and print media.
