Chamber, Agenda 360 at Metro 40th birthday bash
Metro invited the community to Fountain Square on August 15, 2013 to celebrate its 40th anniversary and honor those who had contributed to their success over the past four decades.
SORTA Board Chair Suzanne Burke and Metro's CEO Terry Garcia Crews presented those organizations and individuals with 40th Anniversary Partnership Awards.
From creating and funding public transportation in Greater Cincinnati to expanding transit ridership through innovative programs and helping improve the quality of life in the community through transit, all of the award winners demonstrated long-term commitment to Metro.
Ellen van der Horst, President and CEO of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and Mary Stagaman, Executive Director of Agenda 360, accepted the award on the Chamber's behalf.
"Transit supports economic development, and the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, through its Agenda 360 initiative, has identified transportation as one of the region's top priorities," said Brandi Stewart, Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) board member.
"Agenda 360 has been actively involved in the discussion about how to make transit seamless throughout the region and has provided a forum for community discussion."
