Hello Cincy attracts talent to the region

Hello Cincy Day July Group

Hello Cincy, a pilot program of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, was introduced July 21 to an audience of new hires from Vantiv of Symmes, Ohio. Hello Cincy is an engaging, interactive immersion day that introduces new employees to the region, embeds them in the community and helps ensure newly attracted top talent is connected quickly to people and place.

“Our member businesses tell us that new employees who connect to all that the Cincinnati region offers are much more likely to stay with their companies and in our region,” said Jordan Vogel, vice president of Talent Initiatives for the Cincinnati Chamber.

“With the Cincinnati Chamber’s broad knowledge of our region, we facilitate a full-day Cincinnati crash course that our members can easily weave into their existing onboarding and training for new hires; assisting in continuous attraction of top talent long term,” added Jules Shumate, talent attraction, higher education & special projects leader for the Cincinnati Chamber.

Hello Cincy is a highly customizable program which allows participants the opportunity to choose topics that are of the greatest interest and relevance to hires new to this area. Hello Cincy modules include a tour aboard the Cincinnati Bell Connector streetcar and a ‘You are here’ segment which utilizes neighborhood drawings created by People’s Liberty Globe grantee, Phil Rowland, to introduce the geography and many unique attractions of eight Cincinnati neighborhoods.

“New-to-the-region-employees at Vantiv had a desire to learn about the region’s booming foodie scene, specifically,” said Audrey Inniger, campus recruiting program specialist at Vantiv. “We were able to plug a Cincinnati restaurant module into our Hello Cincy immersion day, while easily integrating other areas of interest for the group into the day. Tips and tricks learned from Hello Cincy will be incorporated into Vantiv’s campus recruiting and orientation efforts moving forward!”
