Custom hand-crafted cuisine, best of class service
Elegant Fare was founded in 1981 to provide an alternative to dining out. They provided complete, well-balanced individually packaged frozen dinners. In 1982, the company's first commissary opened in Blue Ash and expanded its home delivery business to include the Dayton and Indiana areas. Additionally, the company developed a line of dinners that were sold in over 12 local stores in the Greater Cincinnati Region. As the company grew, it established a reputation of providing quality food products and services and regular clients began asking us to cater events for them. By 1986, the company made the commitment to shift away from frozen dinners and began providing off-premise catering using only the freshest, best prepared foods. Hiring and development of staff in both culinary and service department became a top priority as they strive to always put their best foot forward.
A quantum leap in our growth came in 1993, when Elegant Fare built the first facility in the tri-state area designed exclusively for off-premise catering. In addition to providing daily food service for companies including GE Learning Center and The Krippendorf Lodge at The Cincinnati Nature Center, they are on the preferred caterer lists at venues including The American Sign Museum, The Center, Cooper Creek Event Center, Drees Pavillion, The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, The Museum Center, Newport Aquarium, New Riff Distillery and Premier Park Events including Ault Park, Alms Park, Mt Echo Park, The French House and Krohn Conservatory. No matter where they go, they strive to give everything and more to make their customers happy.
The critics took notice too. Elegant Fare has been named “Best Caterer” six times by Cincinnati Magazine Reader’s Poll, received a “Best Kept Secret” award from Cincinnati Magazine for our catering work with The Cincinnati Art Museum’s Museum Café, and was touted in 2000 by the magazine for “setting the gold standard” in Cincinnati as its “Best Black Tie Caterer.” And the awards have kept coming.
Through the years, the catering industry has gone through major changes and Elegant Fare has embraced this. Our founder Anne Lisbin set the high standards for what is expected and it is ingrained in our work ethic. We now have the next generation of leadership. Under the direction of Anne's daughter Lisa and her son-in-law, Ty Chandler. The Elegant Fare team is looking to soar on and continue to grow.
