Moving up in male-dominated industries
Join the Chamber on April 13 to hear the unique journeys of Sandra Ambrose-Clark and Lacy J. Starling.
Sandra Ambrose-Clark is the CEO of a group of companies including ESJ Carrier Corporation, a trucking company, and Without A Doubt Truck Repair, the largest independent Women-Owned diesel repair facility in the Tri-State market. Sandra's father started ESJ Carrier in 1986 but suffered a fatal heart attack one year later. Determined not to let her father's dream die with him, Sandra took over the business.
Lacy Starling grew up seeing first-hand how the logistics industry affects working-class Americans. In addition to working swing shift driving a truck, her dad also did construction work and both of her parents worked on the family farm. During her senior year at Kent State University, Lacy discovered a talent for business management and a love of sales. She started Legion Logistics in the basement of her house in 2009 and has grown it into a $26 million company with 51 employees.
