Rockfish-developed app will enhance experience for visitors to BLINK,
October 12-15 in downtown Cincinnati

CINCINNATI—October 10, 2017 – BLINK, the largest light and art event in the nation, now has a smart phone application (app) available in the Apple Store and on Google Play (search BLINK Cincinnati). The app was developed as a pro bono initiative from Rockfish, a division of VML, a digital innovation agency in Cincinnati. The BLINK app, available for iOS and Android devices, provides background information on artists and installations, app notifications when visitors are near something special and shows which BLINK installations are trending in real-time.

“Rockfish launched a mobile app that helps you find your way through BLINK, see how others experience it, and even sends notifications about what you’re seeing and who created it, based on where you’re standing,” said Jason Bender, Chief Creative Officer of Rockfish. “We’ve been excited since BLINK’s announcement, and jumped at the chance to lend our mobile creative and technical expertise to this innovative and audacious idea. BLINK affirms Cincinnati as a creative and artistic community, and for four nights, we become the epicenter of light and art from around the world.”

BLINK, spanning 20 Cincinnati blocks will feature large-scale projection mapping, murals, urban artscape, media light, interactive art and entertainment. Free and open to the public, BLINK is produced by Agar, ArtWorks, Brave Berlin, The Carol Ann and Ralph V Haile, Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation and the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.
