Cincinnati Chamber’s Sharahn Monk Chosen for U.S. Chamber Talent Pipeline Management Academy
Workforce development initiative addresses nation’s skills gap
CINCINNATI—July 13, 2017—Sharahn Monk, talent connections leader for the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, has been selected for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Talent Pipeline Management Academy (TPM).
According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the TPM model is designed to address the mismatch between outcomes of the current education and training system, which has resulted in employers nationwide trying to find qualified candidates for nearly 6 million unfilled jobs.
“Cincinnati Chamber members have made it clear that attracting skilled talent is a priority,” said Ms. Monk. “Like the work of the Cincinnati Chamber, the TPM model is designed to connect our members with talent resources, develop the talent pool and improve collaboration between schools and businesses.”
“Sharahn is one of just nineteen people chosen nationally to participate in this skills gap initiative. She will be among leaders from across the country representing Chambers, Economic Development and Business. Her selection will help place the Cincinnati region in in a unique position to invite new talent ideas and assist employers in making them happen,” added Jordan Vogel, the Cincinnati Chamber’s vice president of talent initiatives.
