The Spring Grove Family of Cemeteries & Funeral Homes

 Spring Grove

When it simply matters most
As the largest provider of all end-of life services in the tri-state, Spring Grove is dedicated to assisting Greater Cincinnati families  with all end-of-life planning, funeral, cremation and cemetery needs.

Where it all began…
The Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum was established in 1845 as a non-profit cemetery. Our city’s rich tradition and history are beautifully preserved among 750 acres of trees, lakes, and winding roadways.

Over the past 25 years Spring Grove has expanded their portfolio of services and properties to include Oak Hill Cemetery in Glendale, four Gwen Mooney Funeral Home locations (Spring Grove, Hyde Park, Clifton, Tri-County), and a state of the art crematory.  These expansions now allow us to offer the widest variety of service and placement options.

Gary Freytag, President and CEO of the Spring Grove Family commented: “Expanding beyond the grounds of Spring Grove Cemetery has enhanced our ability to serve all Cincinnati families.  With two cemeteries and four funeral homes, Spring Grove offers the widest variety of funeral, cemetery and cremation services from traditional burial to contemporary placement options.  This is particularly true for those families choosing cremation.  As cremation specialists we have added innovative options such as celebrant services and natural cremation walkways.  We want our families to have a customized experience that meets their traditions, values and budget.”

Ask the experts…

If your family has experienced a loss, or have questions about any aspect of end of life issues, we would be pleased to share our experience and guidance.  We have dozens of licensed and fully trained employees who can step you through the myriad of issues that surround a loss at no cost to you or your family.

So much more than a cemetery…
Spring Grove is a vibrant part of the community. We are host to many public and private events including Weddings, Tram Tours, One of the city’s largest Antique Car Shows, 5K Races, Veteran’s Memorial Services, Summer Concerts on the lawn, historical docent tours, and much more. As a Level 3 Arboretum, Spring Grove is also a place of ongoing horticultural preservation and education providing tours and educational classes.  A complete listing of events can be found on our website. Mr. Freytag & the staff welcome you to come for a visit! Attend an event, sign up for a tour or simply spend a leisurly day soaking in the beautiful scenery.
