Go Green

MISSION:

To provide a platform for Cincinnati USA businesses committed to the continuing development, both within their own organization and within the larger community, of sustainable and environmentally responsible operations and practices.

GOALS:

  • To provide a platform for members who are actively seeking ways in which their business or organization can become more environmentally sustainable
  • To increase awareness of the economic benefits associated with investing in green operations and practices
  • To provide a central resource center for businesses or organizations seeking to reduce resource waste and increase energy efficiency
  • To serve as an environmental public policy conduit between the business community and public policy bodies or institutions
  • To connect businesses or organizations already implementing green operation and business practices with other organizations, in order to develop best practices

BENEFITS:

Participants of the Green Business Initiative will be recognized on the Chamber's Web site, identified as Green Businesses in the Chamber's popular Search for a Business, receive a Green Business window cling, gain access to the Green Business logo for letterhead and email, and have priority access to the Chamber's upcoming suite of Green events.

REQUIREMENTS:

To be recognized as part of the Chamber’s Green Business Initiative, companies must be current Chamber members, participate in the Go Green Challenge, and submit an application to be reviewed by the Green Business Review Committee.

As part of the Green Business Initiative, participants will be asked to demonstrate current or planned efforts in the areas of:

  • Waste prevention
  • Recycling
  • Purchasing
  • Energy Conservation
  • Water Conservation
  • Transportation/Employee Commuting
  • Employee/Public Communications
