Leadership Cincinnati USA
Leadership Cincinnati USA provides leaders a broad view of civic leadership through direct contact with the spectrum of institutions and people that keep Cincinnati on the move. Leadership Cincinnati USA expands the potential of participants for civic responsibility by providing basic community information in a creative manner. Leadership Cincinnati USA facilitates the expansion of networks within both the public and private sectors through association with both Leadership Cincinnati USA and the Leadership Cincinnati USA Alumni Association.
Participants
Participants are selected on the basis of demonstrated leadership ability as well as evidence of community interest and commitment. Approximately 48 people are selected from a cross-section of the Greater Cincinnati community and represent various social, economic and racial backgrounds. Selection of a balanced class is important because increased understanding and knowledge of the community comes from personal interactions within the group.
Nominations may be submitted by individuals, area businesses and community organizations. Nominees must have the full approval of the organization they represent. In addition, attendance at all sessions is expected. Participants who fail to fulfill the attendance obligations are asked to withdraw from the program.
The application period for the next class of Leadership Cincinnati USA is now closed. All submitted applications are currently being reviewed. Applicants will be contacted upon completion of the review process..
Tuition for the program is $3,000 per person. A limited number of partial scholarships are granted annually to those who require financial assistance.
Selection of participants is made by the Selection Committee on the basis of written application. Because each class is limited in size, only a portion of applicants can be admitted each year. For more information, call 513.562.8472.
Organization
Composed of representatives from previous classes, the Leadership Cincinnati USA Steering Committee is responsible for planning and implementing the curriculum. Staff support is provided by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.
Alumni
The Leadership Cincinnati USA experience does not end at graduation. An alumni organization provides a continuing forum for graduates and a mechanism for maintaining contact. Volunteer planning committees arrange educational, social and project activities several times each year.
Alumni are also actively involved in recruiting new Leadership Cincinnati USA participants, planning the program curriculum, and selection of each class.
