Empowering Women to Succeed 

As a woman, you're making your mark in the business community. Consider these statistics:

• More than 34,000 women-owned businesses account for 29 percent of all privately held firms in Cincinnati USA
• Many are small business owners, who make up the core of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber’s nearly 6,000 members
• And 24 of the companies on this year’s Fortune 500 list have women at the helm

Yet for all your growing influence and power, there haven’t been many programs developed for women by women. Until now.

Introducing Women Excel
The Chamber sought feedback from more than 300 women at all levels, from small business owners to nonprofits to large corporations, about their top business challenges, issues and needs.

Overall, you told us that:

• You want to hear how other women overcame their challenges to achieve the successes they enjoy
• Your top three business challenges are finding a mentor, achieving work/life balance and growing your businesses
• Your top three professional skill needs are leadership development, networking and strengthening your negotiating skills

Using this information, we developed Women Excel, or WE. WE will meet your personal and professional needs through five programs:

• WE Lead – a leadership development program for accomplished women leaders of any age
• WE Speak – successful women go beyond the bios to tell their stories and share success strategies in an informal, interactive setting
• WE Celebrate – an awards program honoring the success of women-owned businesses
• WE Link – Athena Powerlink, a mentoring program for women-owned businesses
• WE Share - gain access and interaction with your business role models through intimate roundtable discussions
