2010 MCO Open Enrollment
Employers throughout Ohio will be asked to make a big decision this month regarding what MCO they want to handle those complex tasks of medically managing their workers’ compensation injuries. Once again you will have the opportunity to evaluate the service you and your employees have received through your Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) state certified Managed Care Organization (MCO) or select a new MCO during Open Enrollment, May 3–28.
Unless you have had to utilize the services of your MCO, you may not even know whether you have made the right decision for your company. If you’ve had to use your MCO, here are the 2 questions to ask, “Has my current MCO gotten my injured workers back to work as quickly and as safely as possible?” and, “Has the service I’ve received from my MCO exceeded my expectations?”
