Senior Vice President
Early Learning Strategies

Stephanie Byrd is responsible for leading efforts to achieve United Way of Greater Cincinnati’s regional bold goal that 85-percent of children will be prepared for kindergarten by 2020. She manages the collective impact work in kindergarten readiness, working with early childhood partners to align strategies and measuring progress toward school readiness goals.

Stephanie is actively involved in efforts to increase awareness of the importance of scaling what works, including advocacy for best practice home visiting and high quality early childhood education. This work led to a five-year, $9.5 million Winning Beginnings campaign to investment in innovative and proven early childhood education strategies.

With the passage of Issue 44 in November 2016, Stephanie leads the implementation of the Preschool Promise, a $15-million effort to expand quality preschool in public and community-based programs located within the Cincinnati Public Schools district boundaries.

Stephanie earned a Bachelors in Public Administration from Miami University and a Masters in Health and Hospital Administration from Xavier University. She co-chairs the statewide early childhood advocacy organization, Groundwork, and was appointed by Governor John Kasich to serve on the Ohio Early Childhood Advisory Council.
