Elaine Suess founded Beyondbeing to help successful leaders continue to “sharpen the saw" and move beyond the status quo—to achieve positive, lasting improvements for themselves, their people and their organizations.
Leaders face many challenges and want a trusted partner with whom to overcome obstacles and unleash potential. Leaders with increasing levels of stress and complex problems seek to inspire their teams to higher levels of engagement and effectiveness. Beyondbeing has a proven record of successfully coaching and developing top leaders to take on these and other challenges. Additionally, Elaine is trained in leadership group facilitation, and has facilitated a Presidents’ roundtable for numerous years.
For over 20 years at General Motors and Hill-Rom Company, Elaine was a leader in multiple disciplines, including; sales, strategic and operational product line management, merchandising, IT, ERP and web management. In 2006, Elaine founded Beyondbeing to bring the culmination of her strengths and leadership experiences to others. With over three decades of executive coaching and corporate experience, Elaine uses her strengths- and values-based approach to help leaders maximize their strengths and overcome blind spots to help them lead at their very best.
With research-based tools and a proven coaching approach, Elaine especially helps clients achieve and sustain performance improvements in leadership presence, succession planning, relationship management and conflict management
Elaine is a Certified Professional Coach with the International Coaching Federation, a Certified Leadership & Talent Management Coach, and a trained group facilitator. She is certified in Appreciative Inquiry and in assessment tools such as MBTI, Emotional Intelligence and 360 instruments. She uses Gallup Strengths-Based Leadership, DISC and other tools. She earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, and a BA in English at St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN. She was selected as a member of class 34 of Leadership Cincinnati and is committed to her community in support of not-for-profit organizations and serving on local boards.
Elaine was one of a few two-sport, four-year athletes in college. She continues to stay active, whether by hiking in New Zealand, walking by the Ohio river, playing golf, or teaching basketball to the most adorable 3-year-old Goddaughter on earth. Her love and use of the Monty Python (and previously, Pee Wee Herman) type of humor also makes many moments in work and at home more enjoyable.
