What the heck is a Firkin?

Ale to the Queen City Beers 140x152Ale! to the Queen City is more than just Cincinnati's newest beer festival. Ale! to the Queen City is a celebration of our region and its rich brewing history. Throughout the weekend, festival attendees can participate in a series of FREE conversations with local brewers called Tales & Ales. Each Tales & Ales session will focus on a different topic, such as Cincinnati Brewing History and Home Brewing. The full schedule for Tales & Ales is below. Sessions will take place in the Rhinegeist Beer Tent.

Barrel Aging | 7-7:30 p.m.

Get the inside scoop on barrel aged beer from the masters. What styles of beers are best aged in wood? What different types of barrels are used to age beers? How long do beers age in the barrels?

Cincinnati Brewing History | 8-8:30 p.m.
Led by Municipal Brew Works & Sam Adams
Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky were quite literally built on beer. Dating all the way back to 1812, the history of brewing in Cincinnati is a long and illustrious narrative. Learn all about the history behind Cincy's rich beer scene!
