Legacy of Leadership: A Region Rises

In place of the Chamber’s tradition of hosting the Annual Dinner and honoring Great Living Cincinnatians, we produced a re-imagined documentary, Legacy of Leadership: A Region Rises. This one-hour evening television special premiered on WCPO on April 7, 2021, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. You can view the recording above.

This documentary shines a light on our community’s legacy—leadership! It will energize individuals in our region by featuring stories of people and businesses who have risen to lead in inspiring and creative ways, from distant past to more recently. In 2020 we saw the spirit of the Great Living Cincinnatians alive in so many of our friends and neighbors — so, this year more than a dozen Great Living Cincinnatians came together to tell the stories of courage, resilience, leadership, generosity, love, and hope.

Each segment looks through a historical lens and Great Living Cincinnatians of the past, as well as current stories of those living the life of service to others and to the Cincinnati region. From doctors who led in the image of Great Living Cincinnatian Albert Sabin to brave souls standing up for justice as did Great Living Cincinnatian Marian Spencer, and to business leaders that stabilized our economy and cared for the common good, just like Great Living Cincinnatian Lyle Everingham.

The Legacy of Leadership: A Region Rises documentary features five key segments/features hosted by past Great Living Cincinnatians:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Business Leadership
  • Health and Humanity
  • Inclusion and Equity
  • Restaurants and Small Businesses
