Filling the Tech Talent Gap. The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber’s Apprenti Cincinnati is an innovative solution to fill available IT roles in the Cincinnati region and close the skills gap.

Apprenti is a trusted national organization that delivers a screened pipeline of diverse tech talent. The apprenticeship model leads to certified quality talent and provides 20-25 percent costs savings over traditional sourcing models.

Technology is essential to daily business operations, and as a result, IT-related positions are in high-demand in fields like cloud architecture, cyber-security, and software development. The growing demand requires creative solutions to close the expanding talent deficit.

The Chamber's Apprenti Cincinnati is a registered apprenticeship program, combining workforce training and technical instruction with paid on-the-job training. This established approach supplies employers with the tech talent they need and creates a diverse new workforce with fulfilling careers and livable wages. Apprenti’s proven model seeks to eliminate bias in the hiring process and provide opportunities for individuals of all backgrounds.

Apprenti Cincinnati is designed to recruit and train professionals based on their aptitude, not their background. Prior to full-time training, candidates are selected for apprenticeship roles by local employers, such as Kroger Technology and Procter & Gamble. Employers pay for the technical training and continue to educate their apprentices through paid on-the-job training (OJT) for one year. This provides candidates with a more relevant, hands-on education and employers with the opportunity to train and qualify new talent for their specific needs.

Since the program launched in February 2019, Apprenti Cincinnati has placed more than 40 talented professionals into a variety of IT roles.
