Shawnee State University, located in Portsmouth, just a two-hour drive east from Cincinnati, provides employers with some unique options for their internship programs.

Shawnee State has the only four-year Plastics Engineering Technology baccalaureate program of its kind in Ohio, where the polymer industry is the state’s largest manufacturing sector. Our Gaming & Digital Simulation programs have ranked among the nation’s best for eight consecutive years. Ninety percent of our pre-med students are accepted into medical school.

Shawnee State’s Workforce Development office is working to make regional employers aware of these signature programs and increase internship opportunities for all of our students. We are an accredited four-year university that offers more than 80 associate, bachelor, and master degree programs. Our mission is to prepare today's students to succeed in tomorrow's world.
