What past participants had to say...

Horsley, Erin 200x200

"Participating in the Building Cultural Competencies program through the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber has been one of the most eye-opening experiences I have participated in during my 20-year career in Cincinnati. I came to the class questioning how I could become a better ally and advocate for my friends, family, co-workers, and overall community and walked away having a deep awareness of the continued learning and introspective work I need to do. Recognizing how I live in this world is an important step I need to take so I can move from minimization to adaptation."
Erin Horsley, Senior Director of Membership Support, Girl Scouts of Western Ohio

Walton, Jeff 200x200

"The Building Cultural Competence course was extremely impactful for me. The team broke down the barriers and stigmas of bias, and created a safe environment to explore how and why we feel the way we do. It can be an uncomfortable space, and they taught us how to lean into that discomfort to really learn and grow as people. I made meaningful connections with my cohort that will last beyond this training. I highly recommend Building Cultural Competence to anyone looking to further their growth and development!"

Jeff Walton, Director H.R., Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens

“My experience in Building Cultural Competence at the Chamber provided multiple opportunities. It wasn’t just about gaining the understanding of others, but also gaining perspective of self and discovering some of the hidden characteristics that we may or may not realize. On top of potential bias, it also showed how we relate to and understand ourselves. It also was an amazing way to connect with and learn about other professionals across the Greater Cincinnati area.”
