84.51°, Cincinnati Chamber Continue Commitment to Developing Women Leaders
CINCINNATI – April 6, 2020 – Power Squad, a leadership development program that is a collaborative effort of 84.51° and Women Excel (WE), the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber's suite of events and programs for women in business, will continue to develop all leadership programing throughout the COVID-19 crisis. A transition to online programming, led by Patrice Borders, allowing six 84.51° leaders to experience Power Squad leadership development, now in its third consecutive year.
“Especially during times of uncertainty, our community needs strong, diverse leaders,” said Amy Thompson, director of leadership programs at the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. “It is crucial for our community to continue investing in top talent and inclusivity. Power Squad participants will grow professionally to lead us through the challenges that lay ahead.”
Modeled after WE Succeed, the Cincinnati Chamber’s intensive three-month executive coaching experience, Power Squad focuses on a group of diverse women within the same company who have been identified as high achievers – women the organization wants to retain. The Squad becomes a personal board of advisors for each participant with whom to share strategies and support.
“Continuing to invest in and develop leaders is vital under ordinary circumstances,” said Patrice Borders, Principal, Prevention Strategies, LLC. “In my opinion, it is crucial now as overwhelm and uncertainty increase. Effective leaders are self-aware. For example, they know how their words and actions impact others. They display vulnerability and resilience. As an Executive Coach, I know that a commitment to developing these emotional intelligence competencies positively impacts leaders, teams, and workplace cultures.”
