Apprenti™ Cincinnati hits milestone
Earlier this year the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber announced Apprenti™ Cincinnati, a new initiative offering state registered apprenticeships for non-traditional talent seeking a career in technology. Apprenti’s national model yields candidates from more diverse backgrounds (such as women, veterans and minorities) as they are selected by their aptitude rather than their degree or professional background.
The Cincinnati Chamber is proud to report its first cohort of java developers graduated from MAX Technical Training and started on-the-job training (OJT) at their hiring partner. Employers include Kroger Technology, Great American Insurance Group, Scripps, Kingsgate Logistics and Northern Kentucky University IT. Apprentices will spend the next year growing their skillset under the watchful eye of their employers.
Plans for the fall are underway as the team works to build out curriculum, hiring partners and a candidate pipeline for four more occupations.
The Chamber will offer two Apprenti-specific cohorts of .NET Software Developer and IT Business Analyst occupations starting this month.
The Chamber is also actively recruiting candidates, training providers, and employers to participate in Network Security Administration and IT Support Professional cohorts for September and November. Candidate interviews will wrap by October for the latter two groups.

The first class included former non-profit managers, HR coordinators, culinary workers, electrical apprentices, educators, military medics and IT support professionals.
