Apprenti Cincinnati to Expand Tech Pipeline with Local Non-Profit
Apprenti Cincinnati is on a mission to increase and diversify tech talent in the Cincinnati region through its registered apprenticeship program, which combines technical instruction with paid on-the-job training. This proven model supplies employers with the tech talent they need and creates a diverse new workforce with fulfilling careers and livable wages. Apprenti’s program aims to eliminate bias in the hiring process and provide opportunities for individuals underrepresented in IT. To date, Apprenti Cincinnati has enrolled over 45 apprentices for careers at 13 local employers.
This year, Apprenti Cincinnati is expanding its offerings and teaming up with INTERAlliance to offer pre-apprenticeship programs for employers and students alike. INTERalliance’s vision is to grow and diversify the IT talent pipeline by designing and delivering innovative programs with local partners. This collaboration between youth and adult learners will create a bridge to college or career and enable employers to streamline existing internships or community engagement models to align with either outcome.
This pre-apprenticeship model offers foundational experience, such as early training in the classroom, support services like mock interviews, and career navigation assistance. Partners can take advantage of formal work experience, job shadowing or career services with INTERalliance and students can gain critical skills for college or enable an accelerated apprenticeship path through Apprenti Cincinnati.
“This partnership with INTERalliance allows us to open up new possibilities for our local high schools and career centers. Students can gain critical skills that will set them up for success in higher education or an apprenticeship,” says Christina Misali, Apprenti Cincinnati Program Director. “Employers will be able to engage earlier with local talent and offer expedited paths to employment. INTERalliance is the premier lead in the high school STEM space and we are eager to work more closely with their team.” If you are interested in learning more, contact Christina Misali at email@example.com.
