Member Spotlight: Modern Office Methods
Modern Office Methods (MOM) has been a Chamber Member since 1987. During this time, they provided an MBA pledge to the Minority Business Accelerator, attended numerous events throughout the years and they have participated in Workers’ Comp for the past ten years, experiencing significant savings with the program. MOM has been the Cincinnati Chamber’s business partner for office equipment and production print equipment since 2011.
MOM has been in the office equipment business since 1957. Throughout their more than 60 years in business, they have experienced steady growth and have adapted to changing technology and varying customer needs. You can count on MOM to be in business — even through fluctuations in the economy — to support your needs.
Like most businesses, the MOM team has been adjusting to their new normal. The majority of their team has transitioned back to their offices and their sales teams has become exceptional at staying in touch with clients via video calls. Their sales team has been working with their clients to create creative document management strategies and are eager to have the opportunity to work with more businesses. One of the biggest segments of their business that has really taken off during the pandemic has been led by their Production Print team. Seth Coyle and Vern Dye, our Production Print Experts, have pushed these efforts by promoting the printing and use of social distancing signs. All while educating our clients on new paper products from our partners, for example: tear resistant, washable, and sanitizable paper. With production print and wide format printing jumping to the forefront Seth and Vern developed a YouTube channel, to help their clients better utilize their devices and learn about new products coming to market.
Another major push for MOM over the past few months has been producing online device training videos for their clients. The MOM client training and marketing teams produced 35 videos for our YouTube channel. These “How To” videos focus on general functions of their devices. Clients can learn remotely how to clear paper jams, replace toner/waste toner containers, remove and replace staple cartridges, load paper properly, scan to email, copy, fax, and much more. With so much uncertainty regarding when they will be able to visit clients for training, they felt this was the best way to provide a much-needed resource to their clients.
Clients have always been a top priority at MOM, so they doubled down on their blog during quarantine as well. Making sure their clients had all of the necessary resources readily available online. Many concerns were raised during quarantine, so they filled their blog with posts regarding sanitizing your office equipment, tips on working securely from home, MOM’s new website chat feature, and no-touch options for their clients print devices.
During these uncertain times, MOM hopes they have been able to be a valuable resource to their client base, as well as for those looking for a new provider of our products and services.
